Kings Weston House was built in 1719 after 5 years construction. It was originally built by Sir John Vanbrugh, In 1768 Robert Mylne brought the house and did the first remodelling, the house was remodelled again in 1850 by Thomas Hopper. The house was originally the seat of the Southwell family till the entire estate was sold in 1833 to Mr Philip John Miles. During the First World War most of the house was converted into a hospital. In 1935 Philip Napier Miles died and the estate was sold at auction to Bristol Municipal Charities who leased it to the education authority. After closing as a school it was used as the Bristol Technical College School of Architecture before it became the University of Bath's School of Architecture. In 1970 Home Office granted the Bristol Corporation a 50% to purchase the House for £305,000 for the house to be converted to the Police Training Centre for the Bristol Constabulary till it was closed in 1995. After restoration Bristol City Council it was leased by John Hardy as a Business and Conference Centre. In 2012 Norman Routledge brought the lease for the house who restored it back to a conference, communal and wedding venue.
