Sally B is a Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress originally delivered to the United States Army Air Forces in 1945. After the war she was first converted to a TB-17G training aircraft before being converted again to a EB-17G testbed aircraft for experimental engine tests. 1954 she was sold off to Institut Géographique National. 1975 she moved back to England for restoration back to a Second World War B-17G.
In 1981 she was in the TV series We'll Meet Again. In 1983/1984 Sally-B was painted in an olive drag & grey colour scheme to protect her from the elements better. in 1990 she was used in the film Memphis Belle, which she still retains the nose art on her other side. Since 1985 Elly Sallingboe's B-17 Preservation Ltd has operated and maintained her.
